Our locating work uses Radiodetection RD8100 and Pipehorn 800-series equipment where appropriate. A traceable rodder supports accessible line tracing, and Trimble DA2 GNSS capture supports agreed mapping deliverables.
Equipment selection follows the site conditions. Detectability, access, and utility construction still matter.

What does a private locate cost?
The minimum is $500 for the first two hours. Additional time is $225 per hour in one-hour increments. Half-day and full-day packages are $950 and $1,500.
Does Meridian replace 811?
No. Public utility notification is still required. Meridian provides private locating and independent supplemental verification.
Can you locate every utility?
No. Detection depends on access, utility construction, and field conditions. Non-conductive, inaccessible, abandoned, or untraceable facilities may not be detectable.
How does emergency pricing work?
The $225 priority surcharge is added to the applicable locate service and field time when expedited dispatch is requested and accepted. It is subject to availability.
Can you document an open trench?
Yes. Single-property mapping is $250. Approved multi-property mapping has a $150 base plus $0.50 per captured linear foot.
